|Assalaamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters,
It is our duty to worship Allah in this blessed month according to His Spirit.
“O mankind! Worship your Lord, who created you and those who were before you, so that you may be Godwary”
If a person does not have piety after worship, then he is only performing it as a habit. The purpose of worship is piety, just as the purpose of prayer is to prevent sins.
“Indeed the prayer restrains from indecent and wrongful conduct”
There are many worshipers in the world who offer prayers one minute, and perform sins the next. They pray only as a habit, so prayer does not change their lives.
Similarly, the purpose of the obligation of fasting is to create the attribute of piety in man.
“O you who have faith! Prescribed for you is fasting as it was prescribed for those who were before you, so that you may be Godwary.”
If a person commits sins in spite of fasting, then his fast is just an act for people.
It is important to understand the purpose of worship as well as the performance of worship.
He who has made worship obligatory does not need the worship of his servants.
Allah the Glorified, the Sublime, created (the things of) creation.
He created them without any need for their obedience or being safe from their sinning,
The sin of anyone who sins does not harm Him nor does the obedience of anyone who obeys Him benefit Him.
The purpose of worship is to remove the faults of the creatures and bring them to perfection.
Fasting is used to reform the body, the soul, and the self.
It associates man with God and man with creation.
The condition of the acceptance of deeds is related to the sincerity with which they are performed. The result of fasting is piety, which is evidence of man’s spiritual evolution.
Piety is a condition of the acceptance of deeds.
The feeling of thirst and hunger during fasting gives a person a chance to understand the plight of poor people.
“That the rich may experience the pain of hunger and bestow his generosity thereby upon the poor. “
Those who endure hunger for the sake of Allah while having food cannot forget those who go hungry because food is not available.
They cannot forget those who are deprived of food all year round because of the occupation of the world’s resources by a few people.
The month of Ramadan is a time to remember those who are deprived of their land and their lives, harassed by the Zionist usurper state.
Today, the Palestinian people are deprived of the basic necessities of life. Their whole country has become a prison.
Those people and nations who support the Zionists and consider their occupation as legal are equally complicit in this crime.
Likewise, the masses that are silent are just as guilty. Silence only benefits the oppressor, never the oppressed.
It is an insult to humanity to remain silent and not raise one’s voice for the oppressed.
Those who do not help the oppressed have nothing to do with religion.
“He who wakes up without any concern for the affairs of Muslims, is not a Muslim”
And he who hears the cry, ‘O’ Muslims!’ without responding is not a Muslim.
The worship of Allah cannot be performed by depriving the creatures of their rights.
He who cannot feel the pain of the servants of Allah cannot raise his voice to help them.
Allah does not need or want that worship which is devoid of spirit and understanding. He does not want that performance that has no effect on a person’s life.
May Allah grant us the strength to perform our acts of worship with sincerity.
May Allah accept your fasts and prayers in this blessed month of Ramadan.
