Founding of the Zainabia Center by a small group of dedicated Muslim families in the Metro-Detroit area, establishing a home for the Shia Muslim community. The community officially purchases the facility in Walled Lake/Commerce Township. The center is formally named the Zainabia Center of Michigan, establishing its permanent presence in the region.

Rapid growth of the community as more families joined. Weekly programs, Quran classes, Sunday school, and religious commemorations became established.

A major capital project and renovation phase begins. This initiative was designed to transform the aging 1955 structure into a modern, formal Imambargha capable of serving a growing congregation.

Completion of the renovation project. Key upgrades included the construction of a dedicated ladies' hall, modernization of the main facilities, and significant structural improvements.

The center enters a phase of sustained growth, focusing on the acquisition of neighboring properties to expand the campus. This period also saw the formalization of the Al-Ajal youth group and more English speaking programs.

Initial phase of an expansion and a new multi-purpose facility project begins. Continued growth through digital outreach via YouTube and social media. Al-Ajal begins new programming.

Welcoming of our two new resident scholars, Sayyid Ali & Alimah Eman. Grand opening of the multi-purpose building which allowed more programs to begin such as Fajr Sunday's, Zainab Scouts, annual Zainabia Camp, and more! Additionally, expansion of interfaith dialogue and outreach initiatives.

The Zainabia Center of Michigan stands as a thriving spiritual home for hundreds of Muslims in Metro-Detroit, with over 11 active committees and a full calendar of programs year-round.
